What is the cancellation policy?
Registration is refundable through August 25 minus a $25 fee. No refund is available after August 25. This policy applies to both main conference registration and tutorial fees.
Who can attend EPIC2021?
Anyone can register and attend! EPIC2021 is a virtual, global event with a live programming available to attendees around the world. Read about regional schedules here.
What is the registration deadline?
Conference registration closes October 8. Tutorial registration closes October 1.
I don’t know how I’ll fit this into my schedule. Can I just watch the video another time?
EPIC2021 is a conference and 2-week virtual community, and what’s captured on video is just one part of the experience. Our virtual world Terra is active 24/7 with attendees around the world, and the schedule offers lots of flexibility. Think of it as a grand ethnographic jamboree—you won’t attend everything, and we suggest prioritizing sessions of interest, as well as opportunities to connect with people during this unique global gathering. You can also dip into chats, networking events, attendee messaging, and even listen to sessions on any mobile or desktop device while you’re on break, on the train, at the dog park, cooking, or taking a walk (to name just a few favorite venues from last year).
All that said…yes you can watch video recordings! Video will be available to attendees in Terra, a few weeks later most of the main program will be available to all EPIC Members in our Video Library.
How will I access the conference? Are there any special tech requirements?
You’ll need:
- An up-to-date web browser on a computer, tablet, or mobile device (Chrome or Firefox recommended).
- A webcam and mic to participate in interactive sessions.
- High-speed internet.
On October 10 or 11 (because Earth is round), attendees will receive an invitation to join our virtual conference platform, with lots of helpful info and support contacts!

Pricing
Conference registration includes access to our entire program, platform, and community, with the exception of Tutorials (space is limited; see below).
We know that challenging financial times continue for many individuals, families, organizations, countries, and for EPIC as a non-profit. We’re proud to offer a financially accessible pricing structure again this year.
When you register, you will choose the fee that is appropriate for you. Your choice is private, and every participant has access to the full program. We ask only that you do your best. We can only offer accessible rates if those who can pay more choose to do so. All prices in US$.
Regular Rate
Choose the regular rate if your registration will be paid or reimbursed in whole or in part by your employer, OR if it is affordable to you.
US$350 members / $500 non-members*
Discounted Rates
Choose the discounted rate that you can afford if your registration will NOT be paid or reimbursed in whole or in part by your employer.
US$250 members / $400 non-members*
US$200 members / $350 non-members*
US$150 members / $300 non-members*

Tutorials—*registration for these sessions is now closed
Each tutorial is US$100. Pre-registration is required and space is limited (first-come, first served). Tutorials registration closes October 1—this is a week prior to the close of main conference registration.
Please review Tutorial descriptions and schedules before starting your conference registration and, unless you have a Time Turner, do not register for conflicting sessions.
